Re: Does this seem like a good idea for a build?

I would keep looking I learned the hard way on many a piles of junk with rust that I have bought in the past . the rust is in every part of the truck it makes it hard to buy all new parts or good rustfree parts when you can keep looking and find a good truck to start with I bought my 77 crew cab out in ca. and had it shipped to ga. just because it wasn't eat up with rust it had just a little rust in the floorpans but they were easy to cut out and replace the bed had a couple spots so replaced it with a bed off a 87 with no rust for 300 bucs . what I am trying to say is if you are wanting a nice truck just keep looking and you will find one sooner or later ,

the reason you need the bellhousing is on the stock chevy nv4500 bellhousing, the clutch slave is on the pass side. on the square body 4x4s its pass side driveshaft, so there can be interference issues. I believe some guys (possibly lifted) have gotten away with using the stock setup.

That's a sweet truck. Yeah I guess I need to expand to the West coast and down south as that seems to be where all the decent trucks are.

Any opinions of this one? I may go look at it, I'm not too crazy about the plow, but, we will see.

$6500 for a truck that you know won't pass inspection? I admire your bravery haha. Looks like they painted over a good deal of rust on the frame too.

Re: Does this seem like a good idea for a build?

plow on truck = automatic solid rust bucket on the underside and more drivers beat the hell out of plow trucks also .

I always say buy the cleanest truck you want . . . then buy the plow you wont to install on it . never buy a used plow truck .
