67 gmc with late 4x4 running gears?

1967-1972 4 wheel drives are hard to come by in my neck of the woods. I have a 2 wheel drive 67 gmc truck (swb) that I really like.I have a complete early 80's 4x4 frame (swb) with axles transfer case and tranny. Is it possible to make my old gmc a 4x4 with this? I can weld and fabricate.Has any one attempted this before?
Thanks
