Re: Any info on 883 heads?

Well they used them on most of the c3 corvettes. Mine has a set and it runs fairly well. they have a reputation of cracking around the exhaust port but if you don't get the engine too hot you should be ok. Did they magnaflux the heads and if they are ported they flow pretty well.

here's plenty more.

Re: Any info on 883 heads?

im pretty sure there 883's i could be wrong. havent got them checked out yet, just pulled the valve and polished them up.. valve guides are nice and tight, one valve steam seal was missing.. but yeah, they are definetly ported.. i see the scibe marks on them and they did a damn good job, nice and smooth. but cool.. anything beats the 624 heads i got in there now. im cleanin them up and going to get them checked out. thank

Re: Any info on 883 heads?

They are "993" castings. 3998993 is the full casting number. These are the castings that would have come on a '72 350 engine and came on the truck engines. If you check you will see they have May 18th 72 date code on one, and it looks like March 21st 72 on the other. They will work fine for what you are doing.

Sorry, I misread your original post, I thought you meant 882s.
