Re: This is my sons first truck..

That is awsome!!!! Looks like you guys will have a great time and learn a lot together!!!

Im with jocko though Id have to try and convince him keep that pretty close to original. However I remember my first 72 Nova at 16 yo bought it myself as well. Original was not in my vocabulary at that age but how I look back and wish I kept it that way now.

Congratulations and good luck with the project!!!

Wow, congrats, nice truck to start with, proud of both of you. Always meant a lot to me to have my Dad there at the start and for many years later too. He is gone now but will always remember learning and spending time with my wise Father. Keep us posted on the project.

Re: This is my sons first truck..

Ahh I remember when me and my dad drug my 67 home from over the mountain. To think it all happened cause he got a little lost and spotted it in the woods. After everything was set and done one of his friends came by having a trailer like it was all ment to be. Have to say the scariest thing was when we were heading down the mountain the door flew open at about 50 mph. Nothing a bungie cord couldnt fix lol. That truck looks great though, looking forward to hear you more on the forum

This is an awesome event unfolding before our eyes! I LOVE the fact that he is working so hard to fix up his truck. This truck will mean soooo much to him. Plus he has an awesome dad to help guide him along. Keep up the good efforts and good luck with your project!

Looks like it will be less than $20 to ship it. Just pm me your address and as long as the shipping is that cheap I'll box it up and send it.

Re: This is my sons first truck..

He will have to give it a good cleaning and maybe a coat of paint, but it should work well for him until he can do his steering upgrade.

Re: This is my sons first truck..

I am happy to help, and it got the thing out of my shop! It was pretty caked up with dirt but a little elbow grease and a can of paint will fix him right up!

Re: This is my sons first truck..

Cool Thread..................I have financed 3 trucks to different people over my time and got screwed by all 3. Sad part is that the last one was my best friends son. Friend tried to pay me and I would not accept it #1 because he doenst have it to spend #2 the deal was between my and his son. The kid blocked my calls, deleted me on Facebook, and walked out when his dad told him he needed to man up and pay me. NEVER AGAIN will I finance for anybody.

sstaten69 looks like your raising your kid right and Im sure with you and the Eagle backing him he will do right by you and the person letting him pay off the truck. Those days are gone it seams and you cant even trust family now. He is doing an awsome job on the truck and tell him good luck with his build.

Re: This is my sons first truck..

b.eddys 72 that sucks on the three deals, my son earned all of the money to pay for it and even gave us gas money when it came time to pic it up and taken him out to make the payments.. We still stay in contact with the old owner, makes him happy to see the progress on it...
dbstepside thanks and yes he was so exsited to get a replacement sterring box for free he called his grandparents to tell them of this, even shared it with his scout troop.. There still is good people out there, and my sons mom and I think we have raised our kids to do the same for peoples..Here is another pic of the drivers door, Wyatt welded up all the holes on it and the cab corner. We cut out the rust on the bottom back corner of the door (a 5x4 hole) and patched it with new metal..We are going to try the rockers soon, keep your fingers crossed..

Just wanted to say how great this is. My son was born 6 days ago and this brought tears to my eyes thinking that in a few years he can help me work on my truck and maybe one day he can drive it!
