Blazer tank - fuel filler and xmember fitting??

OK, so I got this part pretty well under control............ "borrowed" a remote release filler door and neck from a Mazda 323 and tacked it onto the fender.......

......But, when I went to put the bed on for the first time in 6 months, the 1 1/4" filler hole is directly under the xmember. I knew I had to notch this one to get the clearance, but Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this ???

Can't shift the xmember due to the prepunched holes in the new bed strips, can shift tank about 3/4" front to back, but this doesn't solve the problem. I'm looking at a very sharp 90 degree angle in a short distance to even attach a hose, does this type of hose have a small bend radius??

Anyone have any good picts of this install???

Heat gun and put a socket on the filler neck and bend it to where you want it to be hold it in that postion till cool. I did it to mine and it worked really nice I was not happy with how much I had to chop out of the cross sill though.

THANKS, 72MARIO....

I didn't realize that the poly would flex that much, but the heat gun sounds like a great idea. Sure beats anything I've come up with so far.

BTW: Got primered on Mothers Day.......and yes, it IS a stepside, minus the fenders. All that stuff is just laying in there, nuthin' bolted down yet. And the bed is sitting on 2X4s until I get the fuel filler worked out. Won't be long!! (Yeah, right!)

What about using a rubber hose like the one used on newer vehicles, you know the ones that look like radiator hoses?
