1991 Suburban Power Windows and locks
Does anyone know how to fix the wiring on the drivers side power window switch. I took my door panel off today to see why my power windows are slow and or inoperable and found that the wiring for the drivers side window is pulled out of the switch. Also I'm having issues with being able to unlock the vehicle from the outside with my key

Re: 1991 Suburban Power Windows and locks
Someone has hacked up the wiring harness on my 1987 Suburban's power window switch. Could anyone tell me where each wire goes? Pics would be great!

Re: 1991 Suburban Power Windows and locks
gmachinz, you are the man!!!!
You have helped me make sense of this crazy wiring mess! One more question though, the "Drk Blue -LH front Up" and the "Brn - LH front down" on mine seemed to be thicker wires than the others. Also, my "Brn" wire had a blue stripe on it. Is this normal? Thanks again for your awesome help!!! Cheers, Rod

Re: 1991 Suburban Power Windows and locks
That blue strip is part of the 2-wire bonded pair GMs’ supplier used in OE assembly line harnesses. The brn and blu wires are seperated at the switch and motor but inside the looming they are what’s called a bonded pair. They go to the motors. You’ll see them going to the motors on each door. Those are acrylic jacketed leads and I use updated SXL/GXL oil resistant high heat wiring in all of my repair pigtail sections and harness assemblies.

Re: 1991 Suburban Power Windows and locks
Okay, last question. Where can I get those strange shaped electrical ends (in your last picture of parts) that go around the copper posts in the switch? Could I get them at a GM Dealer?
Thanks

Re: 1991 Suburban Power Windows and locks
No-they are obsolete from Delphi and have been for awhile. Dealers dont have them either. I keep a large stock of them tho-I build harnesses and I obtained the last 5,000 of them or so directly from Delphi once I heard Delphi was no longer going to make them. I sell them at .90 each if you need some. Let me know how many you need/want-I include 1” dual wall heat shrink with each one purchases too.

That pigtail looks awesome. Do you mind me asking how much you charge? You can PM me if you want.
Cheers, Rod
