Cargo mat

I just bought a 1970 Suburban. It is pretty rough. Way to much rust and body work so I want to drop it a couple of inches, clean it up, get it clean, stop all leaks, get it stopping better, get a more complete interior. Which brings me to this question: Does anyone make a rubber floor mat for the cargo area? Just like a plain roll out rubber mat like you would use in a pick up.

I want to embrace the rust, rough, and ugly to make it into an old shop truck or rat rat sort of truck. Anyideas on the mat?

Are you referring to the OE style MIP flooring, or are you looking for one that PU's use in the bed?

Though I have heard from many members here, and vendors as well when I asked about them that they don't hold up to well under general use.

PU style I would figure you could trim to fit.

i ordered those MIP mats from classic industries and was very dissapointed so i sent them straight back......

i will most likely go with the truck bed mat and cut to fit like you say. seems there is a lot of money to be made if someone could make a form and remanufacture the original style mats for the rear passenger and cargo areas for blazers and suburbans alike

Wow! Perfect. I saw the trim to fit but they seem a little cheap looking.

I bought a rubber truck bed mat and cut it to size - basically to protect the original carpet in mine. My second row seat is bolted down on top the mat, and it covers the entire rear cargo area. It's thick, and totally bomb proof - protects from spillage, tools, gear, etc. if I recall, I bought it online for $60. I can take a pic if you want.

Hey Doug, please take a pic of how yours is set up.
I may do the same thing, since my carpet is fresh and I worry about messing it up with stuff I put on it.

Chris,
I will take a pic this weekend, most likely Saturday, and post it. I will also look for the order and where I purchased it. It took a little trimming, and creating some cut-outs for the seat brackets, but fairly easy. It's also thick enough that regardless of weight on top the mat, it does not leave any impressions in carpet or padding.
