1968 c10 w 5.7 does HEI fit

Hey everyone,

I have a 1968 c10 with a 350. I would like to purchase a curved HEI DUI (Davis Unified) distributor called a crossfire from Performance Distributor. Does anyone know if this larger cap design will fit with a factory firewall?

https://performancedistributors.com/product/streetstrip-dui-distributor-w-cross-fire-cap/

Thank you for the help,
John

Don't see why it wouldn't. It's one of the best upgrades you can do to your rig. Some cats have had firewall clearance issues from the engine being mounted too far back. But that usually from the engine being placed in the wrong mounting spots.

Awesome. I just wanted to make sure to try to avoid needing to create more clearance.

Good point on the resistor wire. I’ll be running a new line.

Thanks for the advice guys!

Easy to measure!
The hei is 1 1/2 inches bigger in diameter. You need a minimum of 3/4 inch for it to fit tight to the firewall. Anything more than that and you’re good.

I don't have the crossfire cap, but i have that same distributor in my 68 with a 350. Only real problem i had was that the screws that hold the cap on are difficult to get to. Other than that no problem.
