Well thank you for the Complement...it really means a lot to me!
Plans are --- my plans are to perform as close as correct as complete Factory type frame off restoration with no expense spared. At 65 years old i have slowed down some so im sure it will take a few years! This truck being a documented true factory Cheyenne Super it will be worth the investment,

* Again i thank you sir for the complement.
***** now spread the word im looking for any and all NOS parts i can find!!!

Still has the original rockers and cab corners though they need attention after 50 years! (Happy birthday to all the 72’s out there.) The original owner was a pilot, still has the stickers on it.

Typical options for a Cheyenne Super; auto, tilt, AC, etc. One unique option is factory rear slider. Don’t see that very often.

As you can see I still use the truck for work and play!

That's That's nice truck for sure...post a spid pic please

Awesome! Cheyenne Super Longhorns are very, very, hard to find. I know where there is almost a twin to your ochre one but it is white.

Let's keep the Longhorn trend going. Here is my GMC version that has been K swapped.

Another real nice one Richard. That camper shell is awesome - very few of the Longhorn-length toppers just lying around these days. Thanks for sharing.

I need to do something with it soon. The outer shell is in great shape but the wooden inner structure needs rebuild.

This truck would have had the standard “sport” mirrors (no mirror option is listed) The ones on it have been added

Re: Post a real Cheyenne Super only (aka the defiinitive Cheyenne Super thread)!

Here is my 72 CS “The Beave”. (Oregon State colors 😀.) The prior owner painted it orange and white. Originally green and white. You can see the original colors where the paint is pealing. . . .

Originally sold in Phoenix, spent time in Los Angeles. I have the warranty card. The original owner was a pilot, still has a window sticker. I bought it in Oregon about 15 years ago.

It’s fairly original. The engine was replaced, I can see where someone bolted in a roll bar in the bed (probably one of those cheap chrome ones) and it has “Hickey Enterprises” front and rear diff covers. Bonus!!! The front differential looks to be from a square body, has the integrated stabilizer bracket welded to the diff. It don’t think Chevy did that until 73. The guy I bought from said there was a suspension lift on it, he returned it back to stock. The rockers and cab corners look original but are in need of some attention.

The interior is green with brown carpet. The person I bought it from said the carpet is original to the truck. Another interesting aspect is where the paint is pealing from the upper cab it looks like original green underneath instead of white. Who knows.

The inside of the box is still green, what’s left of the paint. Someone must had one of those small “cranes” bolted in the right rear corner. Four holes and a bend from too much weight.

Most everything is worn out but after sitting for months it always fires after about cranking it 20-25 seconds with a lot of blue smoke from the leaky valve guided. It clears after 30 seconds or so! As you can see I use it to pull my dirt bikes. It never complains. . .

I don't have a "real Cheyenne Super" (wrong year for it), but you can post pics of orange and white trucks anytime you want! When I worked at the Chevy dealers, I called that paint scheme "creamsicle", after the ice cream.

I was checking this truck out
Looks legit
What stuck out to me was the
Below eyeline mirrors In WHITE
Spid code says D29
Is that the correct code for below eyeline in white ?
I didn’t even know a super could come with white mirrors
All other Supers I’ve had, listed DG4

Thought’s ?

Re: Post a real Cheyenne Super only (aka the defiinitive Cheyenne Super thread)!

Eric, those are squarebody mirror heads, so not original to the truck.

But, to your question, D29 on the SPID you posted is indeed for white Below Eyeline mirrors (and DG4 is for stainless - but both were options on any trim level) - so a po made an attempt at originality, just with the wrong era mirror heads. Sport mirrors were standard, so whichever mirror was "optioned" - that's what they got. The truck you posted above would have had white BELs from the factory. I've had one Cheyenne with white BELs (below) - I agree they aren't very common on Supers (or any non-base trim level, for that matter), most folks opted for the DG4s.
