Replace pcv grommet

Is there an easy way to replace the pcv grommet without removing valve covers?

Re: Replace pcv grommet

small flat blade screwdriver down the side of the grommet and pry it out. Unless it is hard as a rock and cracked, then it will come out in pieces. After that you can pull pieces out of the hole with some needle nose pliers

Re: Replace pcv grommet

Lube it liberally and rotate it in to place.
I use wd40 for a lube.
Some stubborn ones I’ve had to cut a small notch in the bottom lip for a starter point.

Re: Replace pcv grommet

You don't have to cut anything, the new one will be pliable enough to twist and wiggle in

Re: Replace pcv grommet

.
You can also put the grommet on your pcv valve or vent and use that as an install "tool" to get it in there. Careful you don't break the tool though.
