Weird VIN Situation

Hello, everyone,
I just picked up a 1965 short bed, big back window truck in South Alabama. I really bought the rust free hood and got the rest of the truck thrown in! Anyway, the VIN on the cab starts off with C1545S, which, should be a long bed, according to every VIN decoder. However, the trim tag in the left footwell, says it is a 115" wheelbase (shortbed) and it is on a shortbed frame, short fleetside bed....this truck is never been restored, although it has been repainted somewhere along the way. I know it is possible that the cab was switched, but, the two tags, VIN and trim, contradict each other. It does not appear as either tag has ever been off of the truck. Anyone ever seen something like this?

Thanks,
Al

Re: Weird VIN Situation

Frame is apparently a 1966, so, it was a cab swap. Probably had the VIN tag swapped, too, since the trim tag shows it is 115" wb. Well, that mystery solved.
