Lets see those seats!

I am wanting to see what yall are doing with your seats, bench, buckets, custom upholstery. Im considering the TMI bench for my 85 Super Sierra but might just have the factory bench reworked.

Re: Lets see those seats!

These are all the original bench seats that have been recovered with original fabric. First pic, that one went in my truck. The others, I have been restoring bench seats. So the two black ones I did to sell.

I really like TMI and am considering them for my next build. Here's my redone bench in leather.

Re: Lets see those seats!

They came out of an 85 Suburban..I didn't even shampoo them. Old timer had them covered their whole life. Thing I like the best is that they only have the one armrest.

Re: Lets see those seats!

These are junk yard seats and 250 dollar reupholstery and the reupholstery was a waste of money but hey at least I got a a cup holder. A week later at a Good Guys local swap meet I had seen seats like funkatation has in his pic for the same price 300.00. I like those seats a lot and might pick some up later next year. Here is the before and after pics of the seats I have now

Re: Lets see those seats!

A question for the guys having their benches recovered. Are you guys having the shops put new foam in the seats as well? I as because after 180k miles my foam appears to be pretty worn on the drivers side, it doesnt support well and I sort of "lean" if I am not in the right spot.

I like having a bench but have considered some of the bucket seats available as I think they would support/ride better.

If the seat will need new foam, be prepared to pay more for the job. Just the seat bottom alone, the foam can be $200-$250. The whole set, top & bottom, will be in the $400 +. So far the seats I have done, they have all still had good foam.

It actually could just be that some of the springs on that side have broke, so it's letting that part of the seat dip. Those springs are what helps holds all that up. I did a seat, just recently that was this way. It had like 3-4 broken springs, it was allowing the seat to dip. Replaced those springs and it was as good as new.
