I prefer original style canopies, but I kind of like that one. If you buy the truck and drive it home you can stop at my house and leave the canopy if you want =)

You don't want the topper, so CG gets a canopy and I don't get a cap. There are others here who may also wish they could have that camper shell

Re: Want to buy a K20

Not so sure on driving it home, seems like a looooong test drive, plus not sure I can take a week off work right now, plus it's probably about the same to have it shipped. CG I'd be willing to see if I could talk the shipper into stopping at your place if I buy and if your are serious, special-k sorry CG asked first.

Re: Want to buy a K20

If you actually buy the truck, and you want to "donate" the canopy to a good cause (me) maybe we could work something out. Course then I would have to watch your build thread and "donate" something to your good cause (truck). =)

Looks good from the back side. If he just ate breakfast at Jakes Café he's going to need a 3/4 ton truck to get home ... Huge amount of food served for breakfast there.

Doesn't seem like a big enough reason in itself to pass on a nice truck. These are very durable t cases. In the event a major part needs to be replaced and parts availability is a problem, could always swap in a np205. In my opinion, the cool factor of a 67 outweighs the slight difficulty in changing out a closed knuckle front axle and or tcase.

Re: Want to buy a K20

Since if it’s worn out you can’t swap a 205 in it or anything like that... i wouldn’t worry about what drive train is in it near as much as the shape of the body and frame.

Here is a closer one. Looks to hit most of your needs. If you're OK with the four eyed look and unusual color combo.

The 4 eye look doesn't bother me, but that is a WEIRD color combo, can that be factory? An UGLY 2 tone interior, if I bought I think I'd go with the teal and lose the yellow.

That would be the smart move. As I like say "Green is Good"! And yellow is a "love it or hate it" color which can make resale difficult. I vote for an updated 503 metallic green. Oh wait.....that's what I did. Don't do that!
Good luck on the search.

P.S. If it is factory colors it is the first one I have seen with a green guage cluster and glove box.

Re: Want to buy a K20

As for the T221 trucks, it looks like there may be more parts available than I was thinking. I have to rebuild one at some point and will start to line up parts. What parts known to fail are a struggle to find?

http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...l#ROCKWELLT221

http://www.quad4x4.com/catalog/category/gmt221

And I've read the following company has a bearing kit and maybe more:

Also thanks for the western trucks, the only real problem with them is the hauling price and having someone close check them out for me.
As far as shipping goes if you are looking for specific type of truck, as you are, sometimes you have to travel to pick it up or have it shipped and yes it adds to the cost. Now as far as checking one out for you, you are on the best website in the word for getting help with getting a truck checked out. Over the years there have been many board members from all different parts of the Coiuntry help other members with their purchases and I've even seen where a member has checked out a truck for someone and it turned to be lets say not as advertised so the board member that was buying just got saved a whole bunch of grief. Good luck in your search and be patient Grasshopper !!!
