4L60 swap not 4L65E.

I have a G10 van that I need to put a engine in. I have a good wrench 350, and a 4L60 that I want to use.

What is needed to make a 4L60 work in a swap. I know I have to get a carb mount for the TV cable, but after that I get a little fuzzy.

It has computer hook ups for I believe lock up function, and speedometer.

On summit racing. They have controllers for the 4L65E, and lock up controls for the T700R4. So does anyone know what I am looking for?

Aren't the 700r4 and 4l60 the same? If they are, then you just need something to control the lockup function. I used one of these on mine, https://www.bowlertransmissions.com/...ontrol-module/ This ought to help as well, http://www.rowand.net/Shop/Tech/Auto...issionSwap.htm

Yes and no. It was a 1/2 step to the 4L65E.

Parts can be swapped around, but there are clear differences.

T700R4 has a mechanical speedometer, and the 4L60 has a electronic. Which is the big issue. The rest is incidentals for better strength.

Re: 4L60 swap not 4L65E.

I would think the lockup would be the same on a 700r4 and 4L60 - I thought they were the same transmission but just renamed at some point?

Just to be clear - you keep mentioning the 4L65E as the next trans and it being a 1/2 step away....are you talking about a 4L60 or 4L60E as your current trans?

pretty sure its like this:

-700r4 (aka 4L60)
-4L60E
-4L65E

Re: 4L60 swap not 4L65E.

If it's not PCM controlled and does in fact have a tv cable, it's essentially a 700r4. They just started calling it the 4L60 before they went the 4L60E. All you need is something to control the lockup. It can be hooked up to the brake switch, or you can add a manual lockup control unit of some kind. There are a bunch to choose from.

TV cable and torque convertor lockup are all you need to make it work.
