need help with power door locks

trying to get the power door locks to work in my 83 silverado. I dont have any power at the doors so trying to figure out where its going wrong. First went back to the relay, and didnt find any power there so I am trying to figure out which orange wire supplies power to the relay? any ideas? I have taken a picture of my fuse block and relay.

Re: need help with power door locks

The orange lead to the relay IS hot at all times-the black wires are chassis grounds, with the gray and blue leads going to each respective power lock switch. The relay has dual contacts where a negative pulse is triggered every time you hit the lock switch-this is why any lock switch will lock all doors. You may have a bad relay or the switch contacts are goofy...does either switch lock the doors?

Thans for the response GM.
As it turned out, I blew the fat 30amp fuse just above the orange/blk wire. I had laid out all my door locks and wire harness and the relay. i did the unthinkable, I didnt disconnect the battery and blew my new $5.00 fuse. I put the new fuse in and bingo.. just the driver side lock works. that sucks. Back to the drawing board. in My 83 (parts are from a 86) sliverrado there is only one switch that controls both doors. Is that normaly? My guess is yes as the door panel only has the opening for a one switch configuration. I know the door actuator works as it worked when I had it all laid out. I apprently have the wires wrong somewhere.

Re: need help with power door locks

There shouldbbe a single switch on the passenger side as well. The blue and grey wires from each switch run parallel to the door lock relay. My guess is somewhere in your loom one of those wires are grounding out.

Re: need help with power door locks

You should have a 2-button switch on drivers, single button on passenger side. If you think you may need new LH and RH door harnesses, let me know-I have them on hand....might make it easier for ya.
