Am fm Radio gurus heat sink question

I emailed my radio guy but am awaiting a response so i thought I'd ask you guys. The heat sink on my am fm radio is pretty much touching the cloth ducting vent tube. How hot do these get? Should I wrap the ducts with exhaust tape or something similar in these areas to avoid them melting or worse , starting a fire?

Re: Am fm Radio gurus heat sink question

If it's a stock radio, it has something like an 8 or 10 Watt speaker. You have nothing to worry about.

Re: Am fm Radio gurus heat sink question

What it is is a 1970 cadillac wonder bar am fm radio I added a truck fm face to. It has 4 factory style speakers speakers from electro tech and has 2 heat sinks side by side.

Re: Am fm Radio gurus heat sink question

I think you should be fine. Those heat sinks don't get that hot.
