72 chevy front brakes parts interchange?

I have a 72 chevy k10. Dana 44 front axle. Yesterday my right front brake caliper mounting plate let loose under a hard brake incident. 67-72s are slim around me especially 4x4s. Does anybody know if that plate is the same as on a 73 and up, because those trucks are a dime a dozen around here. And while looking for this part all I can find is 73 and up..

73 all the way up to 91 (in the burb and blazer) 1/2 tons will interchange. The 3/4 are a bit larger

I was told the whole axle will bolt right in from a 73-87 so if you want a upgrade its there.

I don't know that I would consider a 10bolt an "upgrade" from a Dana44, so you would be limited to 73-77 (some 78s). But beyond that, you should be fine. It is not a thing like the 2 wheel drive trucks, where the control arms changed at the 72-73 break.
As long as you stick with 1/2 ton stuff, it is the same.
You could also swap to the later model 10bolt brakes and leave the Dana44 housing. Everything from the knuckle out is a bolt-on deal. The rubber hoses may be different though?

I agree, 10 bolt is not an upgrade. but helps to know the brakes are interchangable, and from looking in parts books, the calipers are the same from 72 to 78 so should be the same hook up on the line.

kwmech you were 100% right, i found a bracket for a newer truck and it bolted right up, caliper fits great, pins work and good positioning on the rotor. and the best part is, the newer bracket has alot more meat. thanks for the helpful info, im finally back on the road...
