old Style Front Clip

Anyone know where the website is that you can buy an old style front clip to make our trucks look like a classic pick up ? I saw it once many years ago

Re: old Style Front Clip

It was a fibreglass tilt front end that fit on new chev pick ups,Not sure if it was a 70,s or 40,s conversion but it gave you nostalagia with all the modern comforts of new technology

Re: old Style Front Clip

Used to be one that I remember seeing in '01-02 that was the AD (47-53) style, and it used an '88-98 as the basis. Should be the same folks that had the Double-Bubble Pontoon hooded 60-61 hood.

Re: old Style Front Clip

Those people, especially the girl, are really tall! For her to be able to stand and put out her arm onto the hood of a Peterbilt....wow! Wait, is that a Kenworth? Either way....she is tall! Back in the 70's, I remember a conversion for the Square Body GM trucks to make them look like a baby Kenworth or Peterbilt....don't remember which one it was supposed to resemble. But, that was two body styles ago...

As for the wheels on that red retro-ride, they're just chrome rallyes with police caps. I have some that are red powder-coated and wearing the same caps, with the hot rod style (narrow) on my '69.

Heres the Pete, same company just started offering these also. Better than the KW I think.

Re: old Style Front Clip

So has no one here ever built one of these? It's crazy that even a google image search doesn't bring up anything but the original truck from Newstalgia. I guess nobody posted pics of them from shows and such. I have only seen one in person. It was still in primer and sitting beside a mobile home. I only caught a glimpse of it but instantly knew what it was. I would like to have one ( not bad enough to pay $2k) to play with. I think if you cut the glass grille out and fabricated it to accept a factory chrome grille it would look better.
