I believe this is factory. Don't know about the codes, though. I believe the roof may have originally been white or gray. Anybody know for sure?

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

I know the pic is crappy, but i found this at the junkyard 2 wks ago. It was white in the middle, and yellowish green on the top and bottom chartruse(sp). It`s sad, truck was all factory and complete, woodgrain dash and all.

This scheme is a little unusual. Typically, the grey and black are the other way around, with the grey being in the middle, and black on the top and bottom. I've only seen 1 other truck like this.

Man Oh Man! Looking at that bad boy brings back memories! My dad had a '73 SWB Cheyenne painted just like that (except the white top) when I was a kid. He had dual glasspacks, 10" ET slotted mags, and fat RWL BFG's on it. It was optioned out and had the tan/saddle? interior with the matching woodgrain on the dash pad, instrument cluster and door panels. I loved that truck, and was so mad when he sold it. Everybody called it 'Ol Red, even though it was orange, which I always thought was weird. I would love to have a restored one just like it!

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

friend of mine used to have an 85 rclb that he painted to match his older brothers old truck, not a 2 tone but it had a cool stripe package, 3 stripes, white and 2 other colors (I forget now) that ran down behind the doors, about halfway down the door it got wider and zagged toward the front, ending in a point right by the front wheel. I've only ever seen those two trucks, but it was supposedly a factory trim package, according to him. Anyone ever seen one?

Re: how about some interesting factory two tone paint pics!

How about 3 tone? The CUCV Blazers and trucks came from the factory with the 3 color NATO Woodland camo. The paint codes were pretty simple too, 383 - green, 383 - brown, and 383 - black. Its so cool popping the hood on my M1009 and showing people that it reads "SPECIAL PAINT - CAMOFLAG" (missing the "E") on the SPID.
