Opinion expressed by a 55 year old who's on the mend from a triple bypass in April.
I like your sense of humor and think you'll fit in just fine on this site. Built my truck in 86 with, wait for it, 16" wheels with the extremely low profile 255VR55-16's tires off a Vette. Radical when all the local builds were N50-15's.
I have 2 sets of 22" transit wheels waiting for a project. Since I'm one of the ancients on this site, I'll put them on my walker! lol
I holistically empathize with you on your triple bypass sir. As stated, I'm a nurse and I love taking care of the sick, elderly and hurt. It is my passion or else I wouldn't have been doing this for 20 years. Also, I'm a lieutenant on the fire department here as well, so I definitely love helping people. My full time job is the fire department. My side job is the nursing. I've been a member here for 8 years as you can see by my join date, but just don't post as much as others. I actually have a set of 22" transport wheels that are available to me as well from the guy I bought this truck from. I love the transport look and would like a set with the hubcaps on mine.

Re: Look What I Found...

Good thing I didn't post a "Wagons Hoo" or make a Ward Bond comment bout those wheels.
I didn't do it.
But at least now I don't feel pregnant.
But you are correct, it's your truck. I'm quite sure some of the stuff I'm doing to mine doesn't jive with "everyone's" opinion. But that's the fun of it for me. And I'm sure that's the fun of it for you.

Re: Look What I Found...

Guys, I love the posting. Please do, give me the criticism, both good and bad. I honestly may not even keep the truck...who knows. I may not even use those wheels if I do. As I previously stated I really like the look of the transport wheels too. Trust me, you guys can't hurt my feelings. Again, I'm a firefighter and best believe you guys can't give me any worst s#!t than the bubbas at the fire station. Hahahaha!! But, if y'all can di**** out, I hope y'all can take it too. LOL!! The fire station isn't for the weak. I've actually been thinking about just fixing some of the small rust spots on the truck, doing a mediocre paint job to replace the red, since I hate red and putting some transport wheels on it and sprucing up the interior with new gauges and a new seat cushion and saving it for my now 5 year old. I've spent so much money on my Chevelle, I don't want to put myself that this kind of financial torture again.

A lot of guys here wouldn't fix the rust unless it was absolute rot.
It wasn't until I joined this site that I began to appreciate the nostalgia of natural patina.

Re: Look What I Found...

That's what the guy I bought it from said. He said I should throw so transport wheels on it and drive it like it is. One option that I like that I've seen guys do is install a solid motor, keep the patina, add a set of nice wheels, but the interior is really clean with a newly covered seat and all.

Re: Look What I Found...

I like the redline tires on the truck in the link. Even though my truck is yellow, I've been throwing around the idea of redlines someday.

Look at this C10 with basically the same type of multi-spoke wheel as I have, just a different brand. Some of you all may not like it, as it my not be your style. But, to me...this truck, wheel combo and all, is just sick.

Alright, seeing it on the truck does make a difference.
I do like it. And I'm not just saying that to be polite.

Re: Look What I Found...

Just saw this thread - breaks my heart because I bought a 62 bbw swb once AND it got away... Had bad paper, skipped title, couldn't register it, nightmare. Fortunately got $ back, but in Maryland, where I lived at the time, there was no way around the title mess with it. Anyway, I STILL wish things could have worked out with that truck - and yours is the only other basically stock 62 swb bbw I've seen in a long, long time (wait, think I saw one at Goodguys this year...). As you stated correctly - all that matters is what you like. Personally, I LOVE 60-66's with steelies. Lowered, I'm good. Stock height, I'm good. Anyway, wish you the best. They're only original once! Here's "my" ol gal... Sure wish it woulda worked out between us I wonder where she is now...

I figured you'd like it. Hahahaha!! To each his own, but this is a nice truck...huh? See, you gotta open you mind and free your thoughts. If I keep this truck and it's a big "IF", it'll be so sick you guys will be like a son to a father. You won't appreciate his lectures early on, but later on you'll see what dad was talking about. As you guys can see, I like to have fun and joke a lot. Hey, that's what's this forum is about right? Making friends, meeting guys you'll probably never actually meet in person. LOL!!

I noticed it has a uncut radio /dash area. And tinted windows. Nice find. I had a similar original paint truck a few years back , bought by a previous poster (C10 King Rene) he sold it Delmo ( a truck builder in southern California) and they named it "the Grey goose".

I paid $2000 for mine, running and driving. I enjoyed the hell out of it. I just couldn't cut up an original truck so I sold it cause it was a 6 cylinder and I wanted a V8. Again its not that I couldn't upgrade the truck its that I just couldn't change such an original truck up. I think a good find / price for you to pay would be $4 to 5K if all you want to restore it. If all you want to do is flip it, especially if its hurt mechanically too, then hopefully pay even less. If you are in love with the early wrap around windows/knee knockers then pay a bit more... To each their own. Everyone now chime in...
I posted a while back and answered what I thought it was worth ( 4-5K) you never revealed the sale price...can you pm me that price?
