Square body style change 88 or 89,,, and blazer too

When did the chevy truck square body end ? Mid 88 year? or 89? or

See if I got this right ..... So The blazer was still a square body until through "89, 90, '91 and changed in 92

Quote:
1987 - The last year of this body and chassis style for the pick up line. The Suburban and Blazers used the same design until 1991.
.Should this read

What year truck/grill is this ?..... Is this a half year only production ? Or is that a 89 blazer or suburban grill on a 87 truck?

That is an 88-91 r/v grill/headlights/core support on an 81-86 c/k (87 r/v) truck.

There were also single cab and chassis trucks that ran up to 91.

The grille was only from the 90-91 squarebody vehicles. It's commonly retrofitted to older trucks, though.

The cab and chassis trucks were last produced in the squarebody style in '89. So no cab and chassis should have that newest grille/headlight style from the factory.

X3; additionally, all of the changes took place at normal model year breaks (no mid year changes).

I did some more digging. The change happened for the 89 model year.

That is not a production front end for an '87 Chevy.

It's '89 and later.

It was the GMT400s that came out mid-year '87 as '88s. Not exactly mid-year but earlier than normal. You could get a regular cab DRW pickup through '88.
