c10 control arms on c20???

hello everyone, now i fully understand that this might be a stupid question lol but anyway, i have a c20 2wd and was wondering if the spindles will work with c10 control arms or if c20 ball joints will fit on c10 control arms,--just to be clear i want to keep the 8 lug but i wanted to update the control arms with some tubular units but i only see them listed for c10s, any ideas?? thanks

ah....not in my experience....at least for the lower control arm.

I fubared my original C10 lower arm, and tried to use the control arm off my C20 parts truck, but the press fit hole on the C20 was larger. Don't know about the upper.

The ball joint and the cross shaft is bigger, at least the ends. I did this once thinking I could do the swap. Now I got two brand new lower 3/4 ton a - arms with ball joints sitting around collecting dust. The uppers are the same, at least on my 68.

No. The spindle is different.

Re: c10 control arms on c20???

ok one last question

will c10 upper control arms bolt up to a c20 truck?
will (upper c20 balljoints) bolt on to c10 uppers?

i read that the crossshaft studs is 1/2in on c10's and 9/16th's on c20s?

i have brand new moog upper balljoints (1970/drum spindle) dont know if the balljoint bolt pattern is diffrent on disc (71-72 spindles)

thanks,

Re: c10 control arms on c20???

Look for control arms and spindles for a '75 C20, the upper and lower control arms are the same on the 1/2 to the 3/4's in that body style. The control arms are the same size as the '67-72, but different ball joints. You can get tubular control arms for say a '75 C10/C20 but the ball joint will only fit the same year spindle. (make sense) I have a '67 C20 that I was going to switch all over to '75 parts but I just decided to make it a 4x4 instead. PM if you need more info.

This is not correct.
3/4-ton lower a-arms have a bigger hole in the arm compared to the 1/2-ton lower a-arms.
Uppers are the same, and will accept either the 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton baljoint.
