My project

I am new to this forum. I have been reading different threads here for several months and finally decided to join. A few years ago a friend gave me a ride in his 1949 Studebaker and I instantly knew I had to get a classic truck. I began looking on Craigslist and found a 1966 Chevy. A few days later I brought it home.

Welcome to the forum neighbor

If you are trying to post pics from your computer or phone, you need to be a paid member to do so. Othgerwise you will have to first upload your pics to a pic hosting site and then link them to your post on the forum.

Did you find your '66 locally?

Thanks for the info. The truck came from Spokane. I have the original registration papers from 1966. Based on that I think it has been in the northwest all its life. I did get a picture of the truck set on my public profile, so it can be seen there for now.

Re: My project

Looks like it isn't stock. What are your plans for it?

Re: My project

The previous owner slammed it, but they did not know what they were doing. The front springs were cut, leaving about three coils. In the back the frame was notched by someone that appears to not know how to weld. The picture is before I did anything to it. I want it slam it the right way. I am going to build a sbc for it too. I just want a hot rod to be a daily driver in the summer. When I get it painted it will be orange and white, so you can look for it around town.

Re: My project

You see a LOT of that sort of thing around here.

Are you doing the work yourself?

I plan on doing what I can by myself, but a lot of the work will be done with the help of a friend because I am fairly new to the world of working on cars. Paint is the only thing I would consider paying someone else to do.

Be very careful on who you have do your body and paint. There are quite a few not so good body and paint guys around here.
