Lifted 2wd C20s ?
Anyone have pictures or details of what they did to lift a 2wd C20? Particularly a 72 if there is any suspension differences between 67-72...

From what I see here, most of the 2WD guys are more into lowering their trucks than lifting them and most of the guys who lift, are doing it on 4WD not 2. It should be pretty much the same operation for either one though.

Just replacing the front springs in mine made a lift. I got the Moog replacement coils for BB with AC. It isn't much of a lift but it sits up nice....
The picture is with a big olds motor under the hood. Switching to small block didn't make that much difference. I have installed flat bumpers on the crossmember for the upper A Frames. This is before chrome went on.

Ive seen some people do body lifts, but like stated above lifting a 2wd is few and far between.

Thank you. Yes it did bring the truck up about 1.5". In the picture it has 30.5" (265x75x16)tall tires on it.
I had Rancho springs and shocks on the front end for a short time. It allowed me to put either 33" tires on it and it would only rub on a tight turn and hitting a bump at the same time. It made it handle like KRAP though. I went to the Moog springs and it feels much better down the highway.

There is another thread in which Txfirefighter relates using late squarebody diesel crewcab front springs for a 2" lift while retaining a good ride and sufficent rebound travel. You will need to try and dig that thread up. Also I was suprised at how dismissive you seemed on my earlier links. Much of a C10s suspension is applicable to a C20 and 73-88 front suspension parts are very retrofittable to the 67-72 trucks. In some cases they are the only replacements for heavier brake parts.

im redoing my front with the BB / AC springs in the front now.
I asked about leveling before but bringing the front up to match the rear. didnt get much love. The 4x4 are front leaf so all the lift stuff is built for that. |
