some pics of my new to me 99 silverado Z71 with the G80 rear locker. Already order all the patch panels to fix the cab corners, rockers and bedsides. The last pic is the lovely brake lines that I'll be replacing. $288 for a full stainless prebent hardline set from inline tube. we'll see how hard they are to get in and if i can bleed the system well enough to get it to the shop for an a full abs bleed.

Nice truck, get the lines on?

funny story. wife drove the truck (kept buggin me about it) and of course lead foot blew the line out and had to get $100 tow home. Start tearing into truck to fix the bad line (the "wet" one in the pic) so I can drive it monday and who pulls up? yup, the fedex guy; my man! killed the rest of saturday pulling all the hard lines (including dropping the gas tank 6"). Then all sunday getting new stainless lines in, new front calipers (bleeders rusted clean off) and flexible lines. Got the whole system bled and "drivable". $225 at the dealer to do full brake bleed. They also replaced front abs speed sensors (recall item). So pedal is nice, lights are off, and abs is working (tested it in the rain the other day).

Have parts to fix exahust leak at the manifold/y pipe fittings and then see if I still have o2 sensor codes. If it wasnt turning cold I'd tear into fixing the rust (all the new panels are stacked on my work bench...)

Got some time off, so I tore into the broken rear exhaust manifold bolts. Passenger side was a relative breeze since I had 1/8" sticking out and some room. Passeneger side was another animal. Bolt broke BELOW flush. Took me probably 10 tries welding a washer to the remaining stud to be able to turn the stud flush, and 5 more to get enough penetration to turn it all the way out. Little bit of pitting on the aluminum but beautiful threads.
