1968 4x4 Spring Hanger Question

Are the rear, rear spring hangers for 3/4 4x4 the same as a 3/4 2x4? The picture shows my 4x4 hanger. I have one that is broken and trying to figure out what will work. I know the 67-68 are different from the 69-72.

Re: 1968 4x4 Spring Hanger Question

I know that 60-66 are the same. GMC had factory 4 inch blocks in the rear. The front hangers are the same on 60-68.If your 68 does not have a factory block in the rear I would say that they are not the same IMO.

Re: 1968 4x4 Spring Hanger Question

Erl,

I'm pretty sure they're different. I just checked between a 67 K-1500 and two 68 C-1500s. The 2wd hangers locate the springs out farther away from the frame than the 4x4 does. The parts manual shows one number for C-1500 (3/8" rivet), one for C-2500 (7/16" rivet) and another for K-1500/2500, 67 and 68 are the same. I'm assuming the only difference between the 2wd hangers is the size of the rivet hole.
