L96/LY6 with6L80

Hello,
I am looking to buy my engine soon once this weather clears up and I can get a good deal on a 2010 L96. I don’t want to run a 6L90 so I’d like to put a 6L80 from a Camaro behind the L96.

Mechanically Its mostly changing the flex plate and bolts and it bolts up.

Software is what could concerns me. I know they each have a control module and “should” be compatible. During my searching here is what I found:
I have read there could be incompatibility issues with pre 2010 6L80 and the L96.
I have also read people have dropped them together without issues. Keeps for example.
I heard people flashing new software in the transmission and then All is well.

Anybody have experience with this.

Contact this guy, he does the Gen V harness and has a guy that knows the computers real well. He helped my dad with his Gen V in his crew cab.
