Question What color orange is this?

I have a 71 C-20 that is originally orange as you can see by the dash in the pic. My options label doesn't have the paint listed and Im not sure if this is orange or orange red? Anyone know for sure by looking at the pic?

That there dang darn orange paint is none other than paint code number 524 Hugger Orange.

Maybe in 72' the paint code changed to 524 with the name Hugger Orange. And in 71' it was 514

I guess it must be the hugger orange then. Looks exactly like oldskool71's truck.

If you look at the paint chips at: http://autocolorlibrary.com/cgi-bin/...ruck-pg01.jpg, there's another one, 516 orange that looks alot like my dash too. It's hard to tell.

514 is listed as red and does look different. That is more of an orange-red. Nice too though!

The paint codes changed around on different years, I think. My rig is still original 516 Orange ('68). But a little sunfaded by now. It's just called 516 Orange, but in other years there were other names. Omaha Orange in the Fifties, also Tangier Orange and Sunbolt ('72-?). The shade you guys are calling "Hugger" orange, wasn't called that until '69 when Camaros came out in it. '68 rpo516 Orange has more yellow than the other color which leans into reddish. I'm pretty sure the darker orange was used before '69, but I wore sunglasses a lot in that period.

This post reminded me of the ugliest stock 67-72 I ever saw.Factory codes were in the glovebox and it was a dark red but had orange interior.
