D49 Sport Mirror Brackets

I'm having a heck of a time finding just the mounting bracket and gasket for the little sport mirrors for our trucks. I read on a post that they were the same as a 69 Camaro so I ordered kits from Summit. No go. Anybody have a source for just the brackets that is certain to fit? Part number on the arm is 9826594. This comes up for 73 Chevelle (and others depending on which site you're lookin at) . Looks like they had different mirror heads but the same base. however cannot find just the mounting kit. help!

Title for this assembly would indicate it would work but pic does not reflect that for sure. https://www.ss396.com/chevelle/MHQ-7377.html

79 Silverado posted a great pic of the entire mounting assembly about 6 years ago. (shown)

Do you already have the inner support bracket? Black metal piece in the last picture?

no I just have two mirrors and that's okay I think it would be fine without the black inner bracket anyway

Mine seemed to shake a lot more without them. Also, you are less likely to have the screws pull through the door if you use them

Yeah if a kit came with the inner brackets I'd install them but if I just found the outer brackets I'd call it good

Re: D49 Sport Mirror Brackets

I would see if you can come up with used brackets before buying new. The reproductions are thin and IMHO don't compare to OEM. I think the gaskets are the hardest to come by.

Re: D49 Sport Mirror Brackets

Maybe found some brackets here:

No pix tho, and for $40 might as well get a whole new kit and sell mine as 69 camaro mirrors.

I replaced mine 2 or 3 years ago and still have the old ones. I will look for them and see what I have. If I have something usable, I will let you know. Bad weather expected here tonight and tomorrow but I will try to look anyway.

Re: D49 Sport Mirror Brackets

This is what I dug up that I have left. I believe I used the black plates when installing new mirrors. These are the originals that I removed. These will work without the black plate that is on the inner door. But , I would find some type of plate and drill holes then use small bolts with washer, lock washer and nut to secure to the door skin. I think that if you only use metal screws into door they may loosen over time and will not hold securely. If you want these, PM me and I will only take shipping for them cause I don't think I would ever use them again.
