Post Dana 20 t/case on th350

Was this combo ever available, or has anyone done it? I want an automatic and I have a good Dana 20 t/case if this is a possible swap. The t/case is mated to a 3 speed now. Thanks in advance guys.

I am pretty sure some Blazers came that way, maybe '69 only? I recall someone on the old Wulf's Blazer Den board saying they had that combo. The factory manual for 1970 makes it sound like all Blazers came with Dana 20s that year, but I am sure some '70s came with NP205s. At any rate, it would be a Blazer since that was the only place GM ever used a Dana 20 case. None in pickup trucks, ever. On edit, I just looked at the '70 Blazer brochure, and it shows the NP205 as standard with the TH350, so it would be '69 only, or I am losing my mind, which is possible also. At any rate, you would never be able to find an adapter for your swap, so you need to just find an NP205!

I played on Hollanders and found the following applications for the Dana 20:
BLAZER/JIMMY (full size) 71-72 M.T., 3 spd.
BLAZER/JIMMY (full size) 73-75 M.T., 3 spd., w/Saginaw
CHEVROLET PICKUP TRUCK 73-75 M.T., 3 spd., w/Saginaw
GMC PICKUP TRUCK 73-75 M.T., 3 spd., w/Saginaw
SUBURBAN 73-75 M.T., 3 spd., Saginaw

I could not find a Dana 20 in a 3-speed (Muncie), 4-speed or auto trans truck.

I know for a fact that they made Blazers with SM465s and Dana 20s. I have seen this combo on quite a few first gen Blazers.

I inquired about this last year and also came up empty handed. The dana 20's are nice and light and would make a good combo with a t-350 trans, but i dont think they can hold up to a 350 motor. I wanted to put one in the 'Dirt Draggin Blazer' because of the weight savings. Correct me if i'm wrong but i think the dana 20 only came with a manual 3 speed with a 6 cyl or a 307 engine. Dana 20's cant take the abuse.
