72 is the last good year in my opinion. 307,350 or 400 motor?

Re: My New 72 Chevelle

Cool project!
My first car was a '71 Chevelle.

How's the progress on your truck?
I was hoping to see it at Des Moines.

Re: My New 72 Chevelle

Thaks for the kind words guys I will make something nice out of it . It's gonna take some time but worth it . It's currently a 307 auto . It's going in my truck and my roller motor and trans will go in the chevelle . I can't keep both so the truck has to go ......Kinda crazy I just finished the suspension work on the truck and this guy finally decided to sell the chevelle to me . So someone will get a nice project to finish .

Re: My New 72 Chevelle

Love it!! My first car was a 71 swapped the 307 for a 327. To this day I am one of my few people at a car show amongst my friends who knows the difference between a 71 and a 72 (blinker lights and slight grill change) oh and I believe they started the heavy chevy thing. Very nice. Have fun.

No choice the truck has to go to pay for the chevelle resto . I will be putting my weld draglites on the chevelle unless I find a set of factory ss wheels .

Re: My New 72 Chevelle

I just picked this 4dr up for parts for 600 bux. Has a 350, motor runs good and trans shifts good. I need drivetrain and front clip off it for mine. If you need something small let me know, I may have it.

Re: My New 72 Chevelle

Looking at those floor pans I would say getting the interior out was huge progress. One less part to cut out and weld in.

Re: My New 72 Chevelle

Looks like you have a good start there. I used to have a 1970 Chevelle Nomad, red with a saddle interior. I sold it to my dad but he hardly drives it anymore, and do you think he will sell it back to me?...NOPE! Anyway good luck and keep us up to speed. Joseph

Subscribing, Love the car and the direction you are going with the Chevelle, are you intending to drag this car, is that why you are going with the Draglite wheels?
