Re: new to me 1957 3100

hey tx the interior is pretty stock but the owner cut in speakers by the vents and hacked up the dash. also added SW gauges (i like the original gauges better). he also added some chrome to the dash that i one day will go back to original.

dan i think im going to pick up the 292, i really like the retro look of the sixes.
this one also has the finned side covers and valve cover. it seems to be a good deal.

kabwe thanks for the vote of confidence ive been follwing your build thread since i got on here. youve got a great custom truck!

daze57 thanks for all the responses do you have a build thread?

hi guys im going to update this post slowly ive been taking picts but not uploading.

i have swapped frames and put the 350 back in with the 4spd. it took a while to find motor mounts that fit but i did. used a camaro rear end and its in place but needs a bit of adjustment and welded perches.

Re: new to me 1957 3100

thanks!! I'm super excited about the shop and to be back at it.
a couple weeks ago i pulled the motor again and last week picked up a th350 to sit behind it. i liked the 4spd but found i cannot run it with the master and booster bolted to the frame. so i guess an automatic it is.

i plan on smoothing the radio section and possibly putting the radio delete plate there. I'm also planing to paint the upper dash section black like original.

i have been working on this 57 a little bit here and there but I'm trying to get back at it! i notice a while back when i swapped the cab over there was no fuse panel so...I'm just starting this KWIK WIRE wiring kit i picked up off craigslist. so far i like it, and its made in USA.

Re: new to me 1957 3100

heres one from 5/6/16 of the barden bumper mock up, and i ended up cutting the side length down closer to the tailgate (full length in the photo). so it looks a little cleaner now.
