Replacement bed sides

I was looking at replacement bed sides for my 1986 swb truck and ran into a problem. My 86 has a single fuel tank on the driver side. All the sides i have seen on a few sites have the LH side listed as no fuel fill for swb. Has anyone seen driver side bed sides with a fuel fill?

Re: Replacement bed sides

LH is the primary side anyway tho. Its the RH square door SB bedside that isnt re-popped. $900 is pretty steep tho-looks like NOS bedside values are on the rise still for the shortbox trucks

LMC only sells the RH, round hole filler SWB bed side. Also, LMC only sells the LH plain SWB bedside - Classic Industries is the same.

Here's a RH square hole SWB bed side from Goodmark as well:

Re: Replacement bed sides

Classic Industries sells a RH SWB Square Hole as well. Hell of a lot cheaper thank Goodmark.

Re: Replacement bed sides

I had tried brothers, classic and lmc. That goodmark is what I want but holy crap that is expensive, half what I paid for The truck. Lol

I was looking at complete sides because my wheel arch and behind it are rotted. I know they sell a patch for that but I thought it would be easier to replace the whole side

Re: Replacement bed sides

It is much easier to replace the whole side. And shipping would be crazy on something that large/heavy. Thats the main reason I cant sell my NOS sheetmetal-so eventually they end up on my own builds lol

Re: Replacement bed sides

Funny, but Summit sells the "Goodmark" RH Square Hole SWB bed side. It's pretty much half the price of the one on the Goodmark site!!?? It said "repair panel" but its looks to be the complete panel. Didn't find a LH SWB bed side.

Thanks Mike

Re: Replacement bed sides

I found my complete rust free dual tank square fuel door shortbox in a truck salvage yard sitting upside down on some sawhorses-been like that for at least 2 years I was told-owner of the yard said $400 and you can take it. He said the box was off a southern truck that came up here with zero rot....I couldnt pay the man fast enough lol

Re: Replacement bed sides

I think a complete bed from the southwest would be a good option considering the price of just one aftermarket bedside. Do some checking. There are many sheet metal sellers that bring loads of parts from that area. It would probably be cheaper in the long run. I know I sold my mint condition dual tank 85 SWB bed for $800 here.
