Door Squeak

Have a 2000 Silverado extende cab three door. 187,000 miles. Out of no where the front passenger door started squeaking, almost sqealling, when opened and closed. Is there a bushing or something in the hing that helps with this since all the pen. oil we put on does nothing.

Re: Door Squeak

Is that the flat piece in the middle that doesn't seem to do anything? Any solutions?

Re: Door Squeak

Replace the door checks. Had to do it on my 99 and 01. I think it was a redesign, if I remember correctly. dkf

Re: Door Squeak

My '00 didn't squeak it popped when I opened and closed the driver door.
I think the door check was about $35 or so.
It was a completely different design and works great.
The door panel has to come off, but only a slight PITA.
