Where to cur.... question.
I'm getting ready to do cab corners and rockers on my 68 frame off, I have already done the inner cowl, firewall and entire floor. My question is, when I cut the old cab corner off, should I go above or below the body line? Thanks

Re: Where to cur.... question.
I believe it's only the bottom 2 or 3" that bad.. not any good shots directly of the cab corner.

Re: Where to cur.... question.
Start with the least on the cab. Then evaluate how the patch will fit. You may determine that you can achieve a better fitment by moving the splice up. If so take it a bit further. Once you are comfortable start trimming your patch to that cut. Also consider that the weld needs to be planished with a hammer and dolly to stretch if back after welding and you need good access to the weld seam to do that. Also consider how it will be to body fill and sand the spliced area. Most importantly make sure the body line at the cab corner and the body line of the properly aligned door are going to line up correctly in all directions. Up and down as well as in and out and the general profile of the panel. It's not uncommon to have to shrink or stretch the flange on the cab corner a little in the door jamb area to correct the curvature so that it matches a stock door.

Re: Where to cur.... question.
Thanks, the way it sets at this moment I have lined up the doors in all directions with the rockers and cab corners. Gonna also fit the fenders to make sure it all stays aligned.. as for the cab corner, I think I can get away with just cutting and replaceing the bottom couple of inches, which would make it a easier feather and smooth job.

What I'm working with. Both sides are about the same.

Re: Where to cur.... question.
I've seen worse...just cut it back till you hit solid metal and you should be good....

Re: Where to cur.... question.
I'm gonna be finding decent metal about 1" before the body line.. which is awesome.. test fit the rocker and it fits great!!

Re: Where to cur.... question.
I'm not seeing any x-bracing on the cab...that should have been step 1 before cutting....you may want to check your door fit before you go futher
