Quick tilt column question

Just came across a tilt column out of a motorhome. Its identical in appearance to our 67/72 trucks tilt column and I know they can be modified to fit somehow. haven't had time to research this right now as I am on lunch break and wonder if anyone can help answer my question. It was cut in half with a sawzall so will need a new inner shaft as well as the main tube. Is it worth buying or is it junk?? Can I use anything off my non tilt column to repair it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Quick tilt column question

I don't think anything off you non tilt will work on it but yes the m/h tilts look almost like the truck tilts and were used as far as 85 [that I know for sure,I have a 85 with one in it that I bought for the tilt and the 454T400]. I think it will pretty much go in the truck with no problem. I think they are easier or as easy as the van tilts to install. I have several I plan to use.

Re: Quick tilt column question

Sounds good. I was able to get both halves so I have a little welding to do. Unless I can find a new shaft and the inner and outer tubes. The tilt mechanism is in perfect condition. $50 for the whole thing, the yard wouldn't give me a half off deal
