Loosen the base and turn it quarter turn counter-clockwise. Easy.

Thanks. So, the main piece that has the flat areas for a slotted wrench needs to be loosened, and then the piece under that needs to be turned counter clockwise?

Newly registered 68 I picked up from my brother in late January/early February... Daughter loves it and it needs a new paint job, work on emblems, some metal work under doors, some rusted supports under tailbed, etc... basically some minor issues fixed on it.
