I have a Cruise Control question as well. I have a complete NOS cruise control setup for a mid-80's Chevy truck and I was wondering if this would be a better cruise setup on my '71 than an original cruise would be. I know it wouldn't be original under the hood with the 80's unit but aren't the newer ones more reliable? I know the original ones for my truck are extremely rare and $$ also.

Hey Andy, are talking about the system that came off the caddy donor? If so what year and model, and engine size? Let me know and I'll go up the library and scan the picture out of the Mittchell Manual at the ref. desk. If you guys need any of this kind of info let me know I have 24 hr. access to this stuff. Catch yoy latter, Tom.

I can only imagine what that one brought. I've seen a couple of incomplete setups with an asking price of around $200.

I have the assembly manual also... but they're just difficult to figure out where to look... I scanned it a few times and never found anything on cruise.

1971 Chevrolet Truck Chassis Service Manual (Series 10-30) ; Section 15; Accessories - Cruise Master cruise control has 6 pages of diagrams; installation; testing; adjusting and electrical diagram. Looks like anyone that has a factory cruise control would need all this information to properly install , adjust and service the cruise control..........Jim

NOS Cruise set ups. I bought one complete in the original box off eBay for $400 and a month later the same guy had another one on ebay. I bid along thinking I would buy it too for trading or a spare. I had $175 bid in reserve early on and missed going back in time. Some guy pulled it out in the last minute at the next bid of $180. What a buy as I have never seen these since the early 70's before mine came up on eBay and I had $500 in reserve on that one. I feel lucky to have this one.
