Lower rad hose for 69 GMC (305?)

Got a 69 GMC 1500 2WD it came with the 307 (I think it was) has since had a 305 put in ( not my doing ) the lower rad hose is kinked and obviously wrong, I know this is a "none standard" option for this truck and I am having issues finding he "right" part.

My question is what should I ask for at the part stores/does anyone make a rad hose for my particular combination/does someone have something that has worked for them with a 305? The engine appears to be from a mid/late 70's vehicle (Has a bunch of plugged vacuum lines that went to emissions equipment and the oil filter it uses also indicates this)

Re: Lower rad hose for 69 GMC (305?)

the doctors on here probably have the answers for this but.....I know most of the small block engines up to around 1986 are pretty similar. You could trying to identify the engine. Back of the drivers side head (on the block) will be a casting number. You should be able to search for "chevy engine identification" on google and find the number. That should narrow down your choices. Hope some of this helps.

The engine is a 305 V-6? or a SBC 305 V-8?
That would make a world of difference on getting the correct answer.

Re: Lower rad hose for 69 GMC (305?)

The 305 probably has a long water pump on it. The stock 307 that was in the truck would have had a short water pump. The 305 V8 never came in these trucks.

I'd start with a stock hose for the engine that was in the truck (307) in the first place. The water pump inlet will be in pretty much the same spot whether short or long pump. If the hose is a tad too long, you can trim it a bit to fit.

The stock hose should work, even works with a serpentine set-up.
