1971 chevy 4x4 LB to SB build

ok here it goes the build starts just got the truck a week ago 71 3/4 ton long bed no engine no seat and a few cab pieces missing but over all a solid truck cab is real solid minimal rust bed is good small dents hood is good grill is very nice shape for year right fender good left fender shot and inner fenders shot.
so the tears down has began this will be a complete build but will take time follow if you would like to see this old long bed turn into a
*****ing lifted short bed 71

Start of the tear down inner fenders were a real pain to get off some one sprayed some type of rino type liner on them had to chip it off bolt heads to get a socket on them. Had to cut a few off

Well about got the cab down to a shell one more door to gut out
Then on to rocker replacement and 2rear cab supports at this point I think that's about all the steel repair I will need I do have some holes I want to weld up the biggest one is were the tank neck whent through so that will keep me busy for a wile.

Ok I was wrong on the cab more rust than I thought I need inner rockers outer rockers front half of floors and 4 cab braces the 2 front are not 2 bad but I'm going to replace them since I'm doing inner rocker and floor

Hi Mike, on the find looks like a nice solid project keep up the great work, as far as rotating the photos, I did a search on the site and from what I can tell most problems are derived from a mobile phone like an I phone or android, you probably have a utility feature on your phone to rotate them before uploading. or you could download the pics to your home computer if you have one and use the photo managing software on it to fix the issue, there is a preview feature when you upload to this site before you post to see if you got em right or not.

Ok thanx I will try that I do most of my posting from my I phone on the go all the the time this time of year. work trying to build a truck kids in baseball ect.

About got the frame bare brake lines out going to drop out trans today clean it some then I will mark and cut frame.

got trans out cleaned frame did lot of grinding on frame were someone welded boltes to it crazy no clue what that was about.

Ok got the frame already to cut measured braced double checked triple checked all that good stuff. Run out of time today to cut will get to it some time next week.

one thing to watch for is the serial # on the frame probably don't want to cut it out mine will be close will just have to be carefully when I grind

well I got the frame cut every thing ground down sld back to gether clamped measured every thing looks good just need time to weld back together then sand blast and paint yea that's what I'm talking about that means build time first class all the way.

Ok update headed back together with the frame more welding grinding plating
Not sure how much time I will get to work on it with the 4th holiday about here.

progress has slowed for a bit with 4th holiday and other equipment I have to work on hope to work on frame some this week and get it plated.
