Hole in Factory Tachometer?

Hi
I am new to the 67-72 Chevy forum, but a long time owner of multiple of these trucks.

I am installing a factory tach in my 1970 longbed, I noticed this hole on the top of the tach housing.
Before I install it I want to make sure this hole is not for a light or something else.
Any info would be much appreciated!

That is correct. The factory just had a small piece of tape over it.

Re: Hole in Factory Tachometer?

My timing light has an accurate tach so I adjust that screw to match my vehicle tach to my timing light.
