LS2 Motor Mounts 4 '50 AD

My son picked up an'05 LS2 GTO dropout with auto trans for his '50 model 3100 truck. I've spent most of the weekend & today searching threads for motor & trans. mounts. The truck has MII ifs, 23-25" between boxing plates, we've got more boxing to do.

Any recommendations appreciated, thanks in advance

I have a '51 with an LS1 out of a '04 GTO. I used the Dirty Dingo sliders

I have seen other people use the ICT mounts. Which are much cheaper, just a little less adjustable.

how about if you install the engine and trans in the frame with no mounts to get it where you want it as far as height, (depth front to rear) angle (usually 3 deg down at the rear measured on the oil pan mounting surface) and ensure there is room for a clear shot at the steering gear input as well as clearance for exhaust manifolds. then get it blocked there securely and figure out if you will use a mount such as what came with the engine or another style of mount such as the style where the mount is attached to the frame-then fab up the bracket to connect the dots between the two. I have an LS engine going into a 57 gmc. I used urethane mounts from an 02 Camaro that fit the ls engine then fabbed up the brackets to connect them to the frame. some guys will use the style of mount that has urethane bushings inside the frame or engine bracket. I just wanted something that would give me the least amount of engine vibration.

We used corvette mounts and stands. Then made a perch on the frame for the rubber mount to drop into.

dwcsr-I revisited your build thread over the weekend & looked at these Corvette mounts. The LS2 he picked up has a similar, if not the same mount still attached to the block. I need to do some accurate measuring & see if i can make these work.

the donut shaped corvette mounts are hydraulic mounts, they have fluid in them, and may not be that happy if they live too close to an exhaust manifold. if they blow out or leak the fluid inside is a brownish goo and ends up all over everything. when the fluid leaves the mount the absorbing characteristics of the mount also go away. they are also spendy to purchase should you require a new one down the road somehwere. i don't suppose you would find one at a small parts store in smallville if one blew out in a road trip.

If you have no motor mounts now there are several options that could work. Here's a couple:

If the truck is already set up for a small block than the adapters I showed above a a good option.

A heat shield on them would prevent any heat issues and I honestly can't remember any car I had being disabled by a motor mount since the late 60's early 70's cars change to safety mounts.

Hey, I'm new to these trucks. i have a 52 chevy 3100. i like the corvette mounts idea. From what it looks like you have added in an IFS. Did you bolts those directly to the boxing plates?

We fabricated the bottom angle bracket and welded it to the new cross member but is could be bolted instead or welded.
