Rear anti-sway bar
Ok guys, I'm currently working on an 87 GMC LWB. I am looking for a rear antis way bar. I know some Suburbans had them, what years or style should I look for. I found a uburban at the wrecking yard here but it did not have it. What is the best years and styles to look for

Re: Rear anti-sway bar
I'm not sure if a squarebody Suburban was ever offered with one other than maybe a one ton model. All 92-98 Suburbans and some Tahoes had them from what I've seen. Snag the bar, endlinks and frame brackets. Get a couple 3" muffler clamps to attach it to the axle drill a few holes for the frame brackets and it looks like it would be a pretty simple swap.

Re: Rear anti-sway bar
I'm not sure what model had them, but there was a factory rear sway bar for squares. There's a guy that finds them in the bone yards and sells them here in our classified section. Someone will chime in and enlighten us what models to be on the lookout for on the junkyard trips.

A few one ton trucks had them. Its been a while since I looked for one but I have seen a few. On the ones I saw the bar and brackets were huge and weighed a ton.

Re: Rear anti-sway bar
I saw a writeup on installing a late 80's iroc/ws6 rear bar on a square. A 15/16" bar is on a few which is bigger than the 92-98 Suburban bar at. 7/8"

Re: Rear anti-sway bar
The bars also mount to plates that mount to the axle u-bolts, so you'll need the BFW or something to cut the u-bolts.

Re: Rear anti-sway bar
I have one listed in the parts forum. It came from a 1 ton. They are pretty rare.

Re: Rear anti-sway bar
Krazyray, I can get two right now from 1 tons , they just seam like they are just way to heavy of a bar.
