The coilovers are height adjustable. The HQ version also has adjustable rebound dampening.

How much of an increase is it to get the HQ version? Also how much caster do the control arms add?

As of right now we are not planning on building a crossmember. You don't need to use a unisteer rack with our kit. Are you wanting to get rid of the factory style steering box?

Re: RIDETECH Coilovers on a 73-87

your coilovers coupled with rack n pinion will make the truck handle nicely..thats what im after.. ive installed your kit in a 68 and installed the unisteer kit and it handles like a dream.. but im not a fan of the looks if the unisteer kit..i don't like that arm that sticks out..

To go to the HQ from and RQ it adds 100.00.

Also, the arms are designed to set the caster at 5 Degrees.

Not a bolt-in one yet for the square fender trucks, but we do plan to do one in the future.

Excuse my ignorance on coil-over setups, but do these require a sway bar as well?

It doesn't require a sway bar, but I always suggest using at least a front sway bar.

You don't have to have a sway bar but you will have a much better ride with one. Here is my 75 with Ridetech coilovers on the rear and front. First time attaching a pic here goes...

I like your sway bar location.

Thanks. It made sense for this application on the '75 frame and the diff brackets. One bracket for coilover mounts, bars, and swaybar.

Not trying to steal this thread from Ridetech, but you should check out PorterBuilt. I am currently installing their full front and rear kit in my 76. The kit comes with Ridetech Coilovers front and rear.

Re: RIDETECH Coilovers on a 73-87

The PorterBuilt parts are some very well built parts! I used a PB Dropmember on of my C-10 builds a few years back. You can get Ridetech Q-series shocks or Ridetech Coilovers on any of their suspension kits.

Here is a question for you, does Ridetch make Fox Shocks or does Fox make Ridetech? I was under the impression that they were 2 separate companies. My Ridetech Coilovers have Fox logos on them.

Great Question! Fox builds our shock cartridges. Fox builds world class monotube shocks. We make the mounts, determine valve codes and select internal components. We also test and tune each application. When you buy a Ridetech shock, you buy a service that provides an application specific, painstakingly tested and tuned Fox shock.

So I guess the best answer is both!

Re: RIDETECH Coilovers on a 73-87

I know this is an older posting, but I just finished my 1971 GMC with the ridetec coil overs and the Rack and Pinion for No Limit Engineering. played a bit on alignment but it handles great.

Re: RIDETECH Coilovers on a 73-87

The coil over kit and coil overs themselves are separate. I got them from Jegs The rack and pinion is totally separate. I ordered it directly from No Limit Engineering. The parts to get the steering wheel to the rack I got through Summit, only because they were quick.
