Re: just pulled trigger on crate motor!

Nice buys! Should come together real quick since all your homework is already done and in the crate.

Re: just pulled trigger on crate motor!

That is nice man. One question, why not just pull a serp setup off an early 90's V8. They can be had around here for $125 for everything...

Re: just pulled trigger on crate motor!

Thats not a bad price when you think about how much the parts cost to fully rebuild one. Plus all the time and labor putting it together.

Re: just pulled trigger on crate motor!

I just put the GMPP serp system on my truck and a couple lessons learned.
First, the alt needs a 50 ohm resistor or a load light to start charging. If you go to NAPA they have a connector PN: EC-82 that will hook you stock wiring up to the new alt without the light becaus it has the resistor built in.
Second, if you got the one with A/C I bought the plug from the local gm parts store and the A/C lines for a 92 Chevy truck fit almost perfect.
Third, the power steering return line is a little short so you will have to buy a longer on.

Hope this helps,
Dan
