New diz, lost torque

Put a rebulit HEI in my 305 and lost some torque. I'm assuming it's timing (what else?). The block and heads were shaved, block zero decked, erson cam (stage or two below a stump), eldebrock 2101 intake, Roch. Qjet, headers. I didn't check the timing before the diz went out (stupid!) so don't know where it was set. Put it at 10 degrees BTDC and it was better, but not quite there. Before I do too much testing, thought I'd ask you guys if you knew a ballpark figure for this setup. Thanks in advance.

Re: New diz, lost torque

It may have a slower advance curve than your other one did. Do a search on timing, or timing weights and springs. You will find lots of info on how to dial in your timing.

Re: New diz, lost torque

If its a msd they come with a lazy timing curve all in by 4k or something weird like that. my 406 likes 14 initial 36 total all in at 2500rpm
