Cowl hinges and capped wire gutter

Hey guys,
Anyone install either Porterbuilt or Switch cowl hood hinges with a capped wire gutter?
If so, did you need to modify anything?

Re: Cowl hinges and capped wire gutter

Yes. I'm doing it now with Switch hinges and capping off the wire gutter. The outer bracket of the Switch hinged sit right on the bottom of the wire gutter, so I just cut a little slot in the cap I used just big enough to let the outer bracket sit on the bottom of the gutter. I also left a small opening on both sides under the cap to allow any water to drain in case it gets in near the hinge brackets.

Awesome, thanks for the reply!
If you don't mind, once you have the cowl brackets placed, could you give me a measurement from the cowl horizontal surface to the center of your bottom hole and to yhe lowest point of the vertical hinge slot.
I have mine capped already and could then check to make sure the lowest hole would clear.

I think the hole cleared. What the issue was the slot that the hinge passes through is lower than the mounting hole. Pm me your cell number or email and I can send you some pics. I think the porterbuilt hinges are slightly different so it may not be an issue with those.
