I believe it says "camper name plate" on the bottom right side. I would say yes it's a Custom Camper.

Yes........it does say Z81 Camper Nameplate on the bottom. I didn't know whether that was the same as a custom camper or just a nameplate.

Cool Thread! I thought I'd post mine up. I bought it about a month ago from the original owner who bought it in Oklahoma and drove it to Malibu, CA back in the 80''s. My plan is to respray it the original dark gold color. (Enjoying the patina in the mean time) Ran like a champ till the q jet got gunked up. Had it rebuilt this weekend and I'm gonna drop it in soon and have her back on the road!

YEP, Dark Gold Poly. Another great metallic color that was available '69-'70, but disappeared from the '71 and '72 charts.

thanks jocko..In the rust belt it really has dried up..you either pay 2,000.00 for junk or 15,000.00 for something decent..This is my 2nd truck from Washington..I have good doors and fenders for it but it is nice just driving it the way it is,,,no worries if it gets dinged or chipped..Just enjoy daily seat time in these trucks...very therapeutic to drive home after a day at work......you know

Wow, very nice, white spokes work well on this one, gives it that mid 70's nostalgic look. IMO, the stance on these GMC custom campers with leaf springs look super cool!
