Hello

I just got a 1986 C10. It was my Father-in-laws and my wife and I just bought it from him.

I started off on Reddit asking about the engine (5 liter/305) knocking and only running on premium (timing). Then I asked about the driver side door being hard to shut and somebody posted a link over here to a thread about 1/2" pex tubing. Thanks kind stranger. The doors work much better now. So I signed up.

I just did a search here about the ashtray and learned how to take it out. I still had one of the springs so I put it back and now the ashtray stays up. You guys have helped me out twice already and I've only been here 2 days.

I'll be taking it to my local mechanic to sort the timing and get the AC working next week. Then the week after I have an appointment with the local detail shop to give it a good clean. I'm really digging this truck.

Re: Hello

Does my breath stink? Do I have body odor? Have I broken some rule?

Re: Hello

Welcome. Yes it's the teeth, but not yours. It's the flywheel teeth. :-) The welcome area doesn't get much activity, I didn't see much going on over here when I first posted either. Post some pictures of your truck over on the The 1973 - 1987 Chevrolet & GMC Squarebody Pickups Message Board area. Just a brag thread with pictures, we would love to see the whole truck, engine, etc. and see if anybody reacts and welcomes you better.
