I/R Thermometers
Are the cheap ones any good? Are they all pretty much the same? Looking at several low-end ones more or less in the $15-$25 range. Mainly just want something to check the radiator for hotter / cooler areas to make sure it's flowing OK and no plugged tubes. Thanks, guys.

Re: I/R Thermometers
I heard the harbor freight ones work pretty good. Even if it's a bit off it'll show temp differences.

Re: I/R Thermometers
Thanks Dale. Yeah, accuracy isn't that critical for my intended use. As long as it works and doesn't break right away.
I just got a new HF flyer with a coupon for $20. Might have to get one next time I go to town.

Re: I/R Thermometers
Mine is General brand and it seems to work pretty well. For all I know they might be made in the same factory in China as the HF models.

Re: I/R Thermometers
My harbor freight one has worked well for over a year. I took it to work and compared it to a H/D calibrated one and it was only off by 1 degree.
